Summary
I spoke at the March 6th Committee II Meeting on the VSB Long Range Facilities Plan. I noted some of my concerns regarding the lack of public consultation, uncertainty in the utilization projections (non-enrolling space designated as “empty” space), data quality and errors in the LRFP, the need to make the LRFP dataset open data, concerns regarding equity, and impacts on to the Environmental Sustainability Plan (consolidation impacts on walkability and active transportation).
Please note that these speaking notes are not verbatim with what I said at Committee. The package includes my submission to the Board with previous Children, Youth and Families Advisory Committee minutes related to school closures and the LRFP.
